Because the mind cannot comprehend what the Exalted deserves in terms of names, it is obligatory to rely on the text in this matter, as He the Exalted said:

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Because the mind cannot comprehend what the Exalted deserves in terms of names, it is obligatory to rely on the text in this matter" This is a reasonable matter. Have you seen if you named a person other than the name his father gave him, what would that be considered? It is a transgression against him. For example, this person in front of us is Muhammad Khalil. We said, "Let us call him Abdullah Khalil." The second said, "Let us call him Abdulaziz Khalil." The fourth said, "Let us call him Hasan Khalil." Is this a transgression against him or not? The name that was given to him, no one goes beyond it.
Likewise, the names of Allah the Mighty and Majestic, it is not permissible for us to go beyond what Allah named Himself with, so we do not name Him with other than what He named Himself with. "As He the Exalted said:
And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned.
[Al-Isra 17:36]
"
"Do not pursue" means do not follow. It is derived from "al-qafa" (the back). The one who follows you walks where? Behind you, at your back. "Do not pursue what" means anything. So here, the relative pronoun indicates generality, whether it concerns the essence of Allah, the names of Allah, and the attributes of Allah, or what concerns the ruling of Allah, or even what concerns people. If a questioner asked you, "What do you say about so-and-so?" and you do not know about him, what is obligatory upon you? What is obligatory, O people? To refrain and say, "I do not know."
Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned. إن السمع والبصر والفؤاد كل أولئك كان عنه مسؤولاً
[Al-Isra 17:36]
Allah has appointed the hearing for sounds, the sight for objects and actions, and the heart for intelligibles. You are responsible for all these three tools. So do not hear what you have not heard, do not see what you have not seen, and do not imagine in your heart what is not a reality upon you by necessity. You are responsible for the hearing and what? The sight and the heart. Because a person may hear a word and build upon it what he has no knowledge of, based on this word. He may see something and build upon it what he has no knowledge of. He may imagine something and judge by it without having knowledge of it. Therefore, Allah the Mighty and Majestic mentioned the senses and the intellect. The senses are in the hearing and the sight, and the intellect is in the heart. If we had adhered to this divine guidance, we would have been safe from many evils and we would have relieved ourselves of many evils as well. But most people snatch up and build upon what they heard what is not built upon it, or upon what they saw what is not built upon it, or upon what they imagined what was not a reality.
All of those will be questioned about it كل أولئك كان عنه مسؤولا
Meaning, a person is questioned about all this thing, and His saying.
