How the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the Prophets (peace be upon them)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Some scholars mentioned that his statement (peace and blessings be upon him): “The nations were presented to me, and I saw a Prophet with a group of people.
) and so on, indicates that this occurred on the night of the Isra,This is supported by what al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn Abbas, who said: “Indeed, when Allah caused His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to travel by night, He would pass by a Prophet and two Prophets”. Others among the scholars mentioned that this occurred in a dream. How are these reconciled? And what is the stronger position?

The hadith is ambiguous, meaning his statement (peace and blessings be upon him): “The nations were presented to me” — whether it was in a dream or in a waking state on the night of the Mi'raj. If an authentic hadith comes that clarifies that it was on the night of the Mi'raj, then it is obligatory to adopt it. This is based on the well-known principle indicated by the Qur'an, which is referring the ambiguous (mutashabih) to the clear (muhkam). And from this: If a text is ambiguous between two meanings, and then another text comes that specifies one of the meanings, then it is obligatory to follow the second text. So if this hadith you mentioned is authentic that it was on the night of the Mi'raj, then it should be adopted.
