Ruling on killing ants if they are harmful

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
ً
A hadith was reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said, "Four [creatures] are not to be killed.
And he mentioned among them: [One of them is] the ant. Ants sometimes cause harm in houses,Meaning: entering rooms and forming colonies. Is it permissible for us to kill them with poison or other means?
Yes.
(The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the killing of four types of animals: the ant, the bee, the hoopoe, and the drongo) And Allah the Exalted has forbidden the killing of a Muslim soul. If a Muslim causes harm by waylaying or the like of what makes killing permissible, then his killing becomes permissible. For this reason, if a person attacks you intending to take your wealth, do not give him your wealth. If he fights you, fight him, and it is permissible for you to kill him; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding a man who intends to take wealth,He said: "Do not give it to him.He said: O Messenger of Allah! What if he fights me?He said: If he fights you, fight him.
He said: What if he kills me?He said: Then you are a martyr.

He said: What if I kill him?He said: He is in the Fire." So, the one who causes harm is permissible to kill.
If this ant’s harm cannot be repelled except by killing it, then kill it, and there is no blame on you; but there is a means before killing it, which is to pour some of the glue on its nests. We have tried this and seen that if some of the glue is poured on its nest, it migrates and does not remain. If that is possible, it is better. If it is not possible, there is nothing wrong with killing it.
