The Permissibility of Killing Harmful Ants

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message from Umm Amir in al-Khabar, which included this question: There are many ants in our house, and they are harmful. Their bites are painful and do not heal unless treated with antiseptics. Sometimes, even after cleaning them, the pain lasts for a full day, and sometimes longer. The question is: Is it permissible for us to kill these ants, and is the harm they cause us sufficient reason to eliminate them? We ask for your guidance. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Yes, if the ants harm you, kill them, and there is no harm in doing so, but not by fire or burning. They should be killed with other pesticides, not fire. There is no blame in this due to their harm, just as the five harmful creatures are killed because of their harm. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Five of the animals are all harmful creatures that may be killed in the state of ihram and outside of it: the crow, the kite, the rat, the vicious dog, and the weasel.خمس من الدواب كلهن فواسق يقتلن في الحل والحرم: الغراب، والحدأة، والفأرة، والكلب العقور، والحدية
.
The point is that harmful animals, such as these five and their like, flies, dung beetles, ants, and anything else that causes harm from these things, may be killed without any harm. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
