Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Indeed, you are in a differing statement)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Dhariyat: 8] : The address is to the disbelievers.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:8] Meaning: some of it differs from some, how is that? Some of the disbelievers said to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): He is a madman, this is a statement.
And some of them said: He is a sorcerer, this is a statement.
And some of them said: He is a fortune-teller, this is a statement.
And some of them said: He is a poet, this is a statement.
And some of them said: He is a liar, this is a statement.
So they differed regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the difference of statements indicates their falsehood and corruption. Whenever you see a differing, contradictory statement, know that it is invalid and not valid; because the truth cannot be contradictory. So these who denied the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) differed as you have heard,[Adh-Dhariyat 51:8] .
Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, you are in differing speech.
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي قَوْلٍ مُخْتَلِفٍIndeed, you
إِنَّكُمْin differing speech.
لَفِي قَوْلٍ مُخْتَلِفٍAnd some of them said: He is a sorcerer, this is a statement.
