The Ruling on the Circumcision of a Young Girl

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: Your brother from Hail,My question is divided into two parts: The first part: What is the ruling regarding the Shi'ah, and what is their position on the Day of Resurrection? The second part: What is the ruling on the circumcision of girls? Do you consider it a recommended practice (sunnah) or not? May Allah reward you with good.
As for the first question, we do not answer it; because their position is clear from their beliefs and actions.

As for the second: The correct view is that the circumcision of women is a recommended practice (sunnah) and not obligatory, whereas the circumcision of males is obligatory. This is because the cleanliness resulting from male circumcision is not the same as that resulting from female circumcision. Male circumcision involves cutting the foreskin that covers the glans. If this remains, it leads to diseases and the retention of urine between it and the glans. This results in the person being contaminated by urine and leads to many harms. Even in marriage, if one of these men marries, he finds great difficulty during intercourse for himself and his wife. Therefore, there is no doubt that the circumcision of males is obligatory, while for females, the correct view is that it is a recommended practice (sunnah) and not obligatory.
In any case, the circumciser must be skilled and know the location and extent of the circumcision so that it does not lead to excess or negligence.
