[Exegesis of (La ilaha illa Allah) as: There is no deity in the heavens and the earth with truth except Allah]

His Eminence the Shaykh: Is it permissible for us to say in the exegesis of the word of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), La ilaha illa Allah: There is no deity in the heavens and the earth with truth except Allah? The Shaykh: And what is the meaning? The questioner: Would there not be a contradiction between this and the saying of Allah the Exalted:
to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between themلَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا
[Surah al-Zukhruf: 85]?The Shaykh: What is between them is included,For this reason, sometimes the Qur'an does not mention what is between them:
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evilوَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسَاءُوا
[Surah al-Najm: 31] is included in it, but it is better not to restrict anything; La ilaha illa Allah,Meaning: means: There is no true deity except Allah,And what you referred to is in the Qur'an:
And it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deityوَهُوَ الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ إِلَهٌ وَفِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَهٌ
[Surah al-Zukhruf: 84], and what is between them was not mentioned because it is included.
