Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Indeed, in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or lends an ear and is a witness)]
Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Q:37] :- : That is, the preceding great verses, including what Allah the Exalted narrated or to what Allah alluded in these noble verses regarding the destruction of previous nations, contain a reminder for two types of people: the first: (whoever has a heart) ,Meaning: whoever has intellect and reason by which he is guided through reflection.
(or lends an ear and is a witness) That is, he listens to others who admonish him while his heart is present.
So Allah the Exalted clarified that the reminder is for two types of people: the first: one who has intellect and awareness, who reflects and contemplates within himself and knows.
And the second: one who listens to others; but on the condition that he is a witness,Meaning: with his heart present.
As for one who does not listen to the admonition, or listens without a present heart, or does not have intellect by which to reflect, he does not benefit from this reminder because he is heedless, with a dead heart.
Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَذِكْرَى لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌIndeed, in that
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ(or lends an ear and is a witness) That is, he listens to others who admonish him while his heart is present.
