A man enters to pray with an imam who has added an extra rak'ah out of forgetfulness; is it counted for him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A man enters to pray with an imam who has added an extra rak'ah out of forgetfulness; is it counted for him?

His Eminence the Shaykh: If a ma'mum enters with an imam who is praying a four-rak'ah prayer, such as 'Asr or 'Isha', and the imam adds a fifth rak'ah, is that rak'ah counted for the one who entered?
If he enters with them in the second rak'ah and the imam concludes the prayer after the fifth, he should conclude with them, because he would thereby have prayed four rak'ahs. If he were to perform a fifth, he would have added to the prayer intentionally, and this is not permissible.
However, if he enters in the fourth rak'ah and does not believe that the imam added a fifth intentionally, his entry is prescribed, so the rak'ah is counted for him. When the imam concludes the prayer, he performs two rak'ahs.

And I said this because some scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) said: that the extra rak'ah is not counted for him, but that is a weak opinion. The imam is excused because he added it out of forgetfulness, and you, O masbuq, are not excused because you will add a rak'ah while being certain that it is extra.
