The Difference Between the Means of Da'wah and the Means of Winning Hearts

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is your opinion, Your Eminence? Are the means of da'wah (calling to Islam) restricted to what is prescribed, or are they a matter of independent legal reasoning, such as Islamic songs given to youth for the purpose of guiding them? The Shaykh: In any case: calling to Allah the Exalted and Majestic by any method, but it is known that the best by which people are called is the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.
[Yunus: 57] This is the best thing.
But if there are distant youth and we want to win their hearts, either by organizing a permissible sport, or by non-forbidden songs, there is no harm.
If winning hearts for Islam now is not done with dirhams, those whose hearts are to be won are given from the zakah, competing with the poor, and they are given from the zakah, which is money for winning their hearts,So what is said: As for means of da'wah, this is actually misleading. Da'wah is not done except by the Book and the Sunnah. But winning hearts, by any cause or any non-forbidden method, people are won over. For example, many youth may be repelled by the callers because some callers do not soften their approach to them. So if one wants to attract youth by going out, for example, after the 'Asr prayer to play football, or to compete in running, or the like, this is good in the context of winning hearts.

The questioner: What are the conditions for songs to be permissible? The Shaykh: I cannot say, because now songs have diversified, to the point that their performance resembles the performance of these low songs.
