Then Allah the Exalted said:

And the people of the Aikah

وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ

[Q:14] meaning: the tree. Allah the Exalted sent Shu'ayb to them, so he called them to Allah, reminded them of Him, and warned them against cheating in measure and weight; but they—seeking refuge in Allah—They remained in their disbelief and stubbornness:

so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them

فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ

[Al-Shu'ara:189] It is said regarding this punishment that Allah the Exalted sent upon them severe heat, so they found no escape from it; except that a wide, cool cloud was sent, so they pushed one another toward its shade to take shelter under it, so Allah sent down fire upon them and it burned them,And in this, the Exalted says:

And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

[Al-Shu'ara:189] .
