Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (A profound wisdom, so what do the vows avail)]
Allah the Exalted said: (A profound wisdom) means: that the news which came to them is wisdom,And this is like His saying, the Exalted: [Surat al-Nisa: 113] and wisdom is: the fitting of a thing to its place,And it is expressed by their saying: placing a thing in its appropriate station. There is no doubt that the Shari'ah of Allah is all wisdom, all in accordance with what is in the well-being of the servants in their worldly life and their Hereafter.
And his statement: (Profound) means: complete and reaching the intended purpose.
His statement: (So what do the vows avail) (what) this may be a negation,Meaning: that the vows do not avail them anything, and it may be a question in the sense of rebuke, meaning: so what do they avail them? Both are correct. So the vows will not avail them anything, and if these vows, which contain profound wisdom, do not avail them, then what will avail them?!
Nothing; because they are defiant and arrogant.
