Ruling on the Use of Contact Lenses

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If a person wears contact lenses, does his ritual purity remain intact while he is wearing these lenses, whether the purity is achieved through the full ritual bath or the ablution?

First: We should first ask about wearing contact lenses. If medical contact lenses are used to correct vision, there is nothing wrong with them; because they are a blessing from Allah upon His servants, which He has made easy for them, and they are easier than these movable glasses, on the condition: that they do not cause harm to the eye, even in the future.

The second thing: As for the lenses worn for adornment, we do not advise a man to wear them, especially young men, unless the black of his eye is disfigured, in which case there is nothing wrong with it; because this is removing a defect, not adding to adornment. But it is the woman who needs adornment,As Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident [attributed to Allah]?أَوَمَنْ يُنَشَّأُ فِي الْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِي الْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍ
[al-Zukhruf: 18] meaning the woman,There is nothing wrong with her wearing them for adornment, on the condition: provided they are not in the shape of animal eyes, like the eyes of cats or rabbits or the like; because the likeness of animals has not come in the Qur'an and the Sunnah except in the context of condemnation,As in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pantsفَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْ
[al-A'raf: 176] ,And as He, the Exalted, said:
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books].مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ حُمِّلُوا التَّوْرَاةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوهَا كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَاراً
[al-Jumu'ah: 5] , and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the one who returns to his gift: (like a dog that vomits and then returns to its vomit) so do not wear anything that resembles the eyes of animals.
Likewise, anything that resembles the eyes of disbelieving women. This matter is less severe than the first; because the eyes of disbelieving women are not due to their own action.
In any case, there is nothing wrong with it. This is from the perspective of using contact lenses, as you have heard.
As for ritual purity, they have no effect whatsoever; neither on the full ritual bath from major ritual impurity nor on the ablution; because the inside of the eye is not obligatory to wash, nor is it even recommended to wash it, rather it is an excessive delving into the religion of Allah that is harmful to the body.
