Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Indeed, then we would be in error and burning)

Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, we would then be in error and madness.إِنَّا إِذاً لَفِي ضَلالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
[Al-Qamar: 24] meaning: If we were to follow him, we would indeed be in error and burning,Meaning: in ignorance and in punishment, as if he had promised them that if they followed him, they would be guided and saved from the Fire,They said the opposite: if we had followed you, we would have gone astray and acknowledged the burning: the Fire, the opposite of what they said. This is among the most severe forms of hostility toward the messengers (peace be upon them) and opposition to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He).
