Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (So his companion called out to him, and he took action and slaughtered it)
Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Qamar: 29] They called out to their companion, whom they saw as strong and brave, and they said to him: This she-camel has made things difficult for us; if we were to slaughter it, we would be able to drink every day. So they asked him to slaughter it—may Allah grant us well-being— Did this brave companion, whom they saw as more daring than them, regardless of his name—meaning: some exegetes named him, but that is not important—did he hesitate? He did not hesitate or delay; rather, he acted promptly.
Allah the Exalted said: Ta'ata: it is a form indicating interaction, from giving, meaning: he offered himself and did so quickly, the fā' indicates speed in his saying: as soon as they called out to him, he immediately agreed: he slaughtered the she-camel—may Allah grant us well-being—first cutting off its limbs, then slaughtering it secondly. It was one of the signs of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and one of their interests, but may Allah grant us well-being, their souls did not accept: .
Allah the Exalted said:
But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her].
