Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (So We brought out from it those who were believers therein.)

Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (So We brought out from it those who were believers therein)

Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Dhariyat: 35] We brought them out,Meaning: We commanded them with a decree of destiny, and they went out,Allah said to Lut: [Surat Hud: 81] Allah brought out from it those who were believers therein. Who were they? Lut and his family, except for his wife,And for this he said: [Surat al-Dhariyat: 36] .
One household! An entire village, their Prophet called them to the oneness of Allah and to abandoning this abomination, but no one followed him, not even his own household. Among them were those who did not believe in Lut. So take heed, O my brother the caller to Allah! Do not be distressed if you call and only ten out of a hundred respond to you. This is a blessing. The Messengers (peace and blessings be upon them) remained in their nations for many ages, and only a few followed them. Who from the village followed Lut (peace be upon him)? No one. Who from his family followed him? Those from his family who followed him did so, and those who lagged behind his call lagged behind. And for this reason he said: .

And here a person asks himself! How did he say: (So We brought out from it those who were believers therein, and We found therein no household of the Muslims) Are the Muslims here meant in the sense of the believers in the verse before it?Some scholars went to that and said: Indeed, in this is evidence that faith and Islam are one thing.

And others went to the distinction and said: As for the believers, they were saved. And as for the household, it is a household of Islam; because the appearance of this household, the household of Lut, was that of an Islamic household. Even his wife did not display disbelief; she displayed that she was a Muslim.And for this reason Allah the Exalted said in Surat al-Tahrim: [Surat al-Tahrim: 10] The meaning of "they betrayed them" is not by way of fornication; rather, they betrayed them by way of disbelief. But it was a concealed disbelief, and it is a betrayal of the kind of hypocrisy.And for this reason it is said of the society in which there are hypocrites: It is a Muslim society, even if there are hypocrites in it; because the appearance is an Islamic appearance. So we say ,Rather, He said: of the Muslims; because his wife was not a believer, but she was a Muslim.
