The Authenticity of Hadiths on the Virtue of the Ishaq Prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: Hadiths have been narrated regarding the virtue of the Ishaq prayer. How authentic are these hadiths? And if they are not authentic, is it a recommended practice?
The scholars have differed regarding the Duha prayer: is it a recommended practice, an innovation, or is there a detailed ruling? And the closest of the opinions: There is a detailed ruling: it is that one who is accustomed to standing in night prayer but does not persist in it, and one who is not accustomed to standing in night prayer, he should persist in it. This is the statement of the Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him).
But I say: It came in the hadith: (That every joint of a person is due a charity every day the sun rises, and that two rak'ahs prayed in the Duha suffice for that). Because of this hadith, I see that a person should persist in the two rak'ahs of Duha; because they serve as a substitute for all the charities that are due upon him. Every day the sun rises, a charity is due for every member of your body, and you are obligated to give it. The members are three hundred and sixty, so three hundred and sixty charities are due upon you. But it is not only charity of wealth; every word that brings one closer to Allah is a charity, and every deed that brings one closer to Allah is a charity. The tasbih is a charity, and the takbir is a charity. Removing a harmful object from the path is a charity, and helping a rider mount his mount is a charity. But two rak'ahs prayed in the Duha suffice for all of that. So because of this hadith, I see that one should persist in them so that these two rak'ahs serve as expiation for all the charities.
