Is there a basis in the Shari'ah for the prayer of Ishaq?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is there a basis in the Shari'ah for the prayer of Ishaq?

The Shaykh : Yes, the prayer of Ishaq is the one performed when the sun has risen the height of a spear. In reality, it is the prayer of Duha, because the time for the prayer of Duha is from when the sun has risen the height of a spear, meaning from about a quarter of an hour after sunrise until near the time of Dhuhr. All of this is the time for the prayer of Duha. If one prays it at the beginning of the time, it is the prayer of Duha, even if it is called the prayer of Ishaq. And if one prays it at the end of the time, which is better, it is the prayer of Duha. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that every day the sun rises, every joint of a person owes a charity, and that two rak'ahs prayed in the Duha time suffice for that. This is the basis for the establishment of the prayer of Duha. The scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) differed on whether it is a recommended practice or not? And on the view that it is a recommended practice, whether one should be consistent in performing it or not? The stronger position is that it is a recommended practice and that one should be consistent in performing it.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
