Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And unto your Lord is the end)]
We have previously reached the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He: [Al-Najm: 42] This verse has two recitations: the first recitation is with the opening of the hamzah: [Al-Najm: 42] .
The second: The second is with the breaking of the hamzah: [Al-Najm: 42] Both are valid, canonical recitations. If a person recites with either one, it is valid. In fact, it is better for a person who knows the recitations to recite with this recitation once and with that recitation another time. However, not in front of a gathering of people where they are listening; because if the common people hear you reciting in a way different from what they know, harm will result from that;Either they say: either they will say that this man does not know the Qur'an, or they will doubt the Qur'an, because the common person thinks that the Qur'an cannot be altered or changed. Therefore, we advise our brothers whom Allah the Exalted has given knowledge in recitation not to recite except with the recitation known to the common people, so that confusion does not occur. But between you and yourself, if you fully grasp the second recitation, recite with it sometimes; because all of it is Sunnah, and all of it is the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
If it is with the breaking of the hamzah: (And unto your Lord is the end) This phrase and what follows it are not in the scrolls of Ibrahim and Musa, but rather it is a new beginning.
If it is with the opening of the hamzah: (And unto your Lord is the end) This phrase and what follows it are from what came in the scrolls of Ibrahim and Musa.
And in any case, it is the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
In what matters? In matters of religion and worldly life. So to Allah is the end in matters of knowledge. When a matter of knowledge becomes difficult for us, where do we end? We end with Allah and His Messenger,As Allah the Exalted said: [An-Nisa: 59] , and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not say anything from himself; rather, it is from Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So the end is with Allah in judging between people and in ruling over people.
(To your Lord is the end) It is also the end of the creatures; because this creation that exists now will perish and transition to another creation,As Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: [Qaf: 15] The end, according to this interpretation, is the Day of Resurrection. So to Allah is the end,Meaning: to Allah is the return. So the end of our states, our rulings, and all that issues from us and is imposed upon us is with Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
And if to Allah is the end, then to whom do you complain if hardship strikes you? To Allah, Mighty and Majestic. And if you want benefit, from whom do you seek? From Allah, Mighty and Majestic; because to Him is the end. How many people have had the causes of their provision established, and then they are deprived of it at the last moment. Perhaps one works to establish a station because he wants to earn a living from it, and if Allah did not will this, the station burns down.
Therefore: None brings you good except Allah, and none prevents harm from you except Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So make Him your end in all your affairs.
We have previously reached the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
And that to your Lord is the end
And that to your Lord is the end
The second: The second is with the breaking of the hamzah:
And indeed, unto your Lord is the end
If it is with the breaking of the hamzah: (And unto your Lord is the end) This phrase and what follows it are not in the scrolls of Ibrahim and Musa, but rather it is a new beginning.
If it is with the opening of the hamzah: (And unto your Lord is the end) This phrase and what follows it are from what came in the scrolls of Ibrahim and Musa.
And in any case, it is the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
And that to your Lord is the end
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger
(To your Lord is the end) It is also the end of the creatures; because this creation that exists now will perish and transition to another creation,As Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation.
