Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And you are absorbed in idle talk)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Najm: 61] Absorbed in idle talk means: heedless of Allah through what you practice of amusement, singing, and the like; for among them are those who, when they hear the words of Allah the Mighty and Majestic, they begin to sing,As Allah the Exalted said: [Surah Fussilat: 26] So absorbed in idle talk: it was said: singers,And it was said: it was said: heedless,And the correct view is: the correct meaning is that they are heedless of it through singing and other things with which you are preoccupied, so that you do not hear the words of Allah the Mighty and Majestic.
This is similar to what the deniers said to the first messenger sent to the children of Adam, where Allah Blessed and Exalted is He spoke about the people of Nuh: [Surah Nuh: 7] so that they would not hear: [Surah Nuh: 7] meaning: they covered themselves with them so that they would not see or perceive: [Surah Nuh: 7] just as it was in the first community, it was in the last community.
Allah the Exalted said:
And you are absorbed in idle talk
وَأَنْتُمْ سَامِدُونَAnd those who disbelieve say, "Do not listen to this Qur'an and speak noisily during [the recitation of] it that perhaps you will overcome."
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لا تَسْمَعُوا لِهَذَا الْقُرْآنِ وَالْغَوْا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَغْلِبُونَThis is similar to what the deniers said to the first messenger sent to the children of Adam, where Allah Blessed and Exalted is He spoke about the people of Nuh:
