Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Say, “Indeed, the former and the latter will be gathered for an appointed time”)

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: [Surat al-Waqi'ah: 49-50] The former are among the created beings, and the latter, all of them, will be resurrected on a single plain where the Caller will be heard by them and the sight will reach them. There will be no mountains, no trees, and no curvature; rather, the earth will be spread out flat, so that the farthest of them will be seen as the nearest is seen. Now, because the earth is spherical, one does not see the distant, for it is lowered. But when the Day of Resurrection comes and the earth is flattened, it will become like a hide, meaning like a stretched skin, and all the creatures will be resurrected on this plain.And his statement: With whom? With Allah, Mighty and Majestic,because of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Surat al-A'raf: 187] .
