The ruling on praying in a place where part of it is in shade and part is in sunlight

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: What is the ruling on praying in a place where part of it is in shade and part is in sunlight? The Shaykh: Sitting between the sun and the shade is prohibited, whether in prayer or otherwise. Even if you were to sleep and place your head, for example, in the sun and your feet in the shade, or vice versa, this is prohibited. However, if you are standing and praying, and the shade extends such that you are between the shade and the sun, it appears, if Allah wills, that there is no harm in it, because you did not intentionally sit between the shade and the sun.
