What is the ruling on praying between the shade and the sun, whether obligatory or voluntary, and what is the wisdom behind not sleeping between the shade and the sun?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on praying between the shade and the sun, whether obligatory or voluntary, and what is the wisdom behind not sleeping between the shade and the sun?

The Shaykh : The hadith was reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibiting sitting between the shade and the sun, stating that this is the seat of Satan. However, I have not thoroughly investigated this issue, and I will suffice in answering by saying that some scholars mentioned that the wisdom behind the prohibition is that blood circulation moves from the cold shade to the hot sun, and this undoubtedly has a severe effect on it, moving from hot to cold and from cold to hot. Then, some scholars also said that it has been observed that a cold occurs.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : If it becomes clear that this is harmful, or if the hadith from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is authentic—and I told you that I have not verified it—then there is no need for [further discussion]. If the wisdom behind it becomes clear to us, it is light upon light; otherwise, the wisdom lies in complying with the command of Allah and His Messenger.

The questioner : You have done well.

The Shaykh : Yes.
