The ruling on verifying news at all times, even if the reporter is trustworthy
When someone brings me news,And I said to him: we must verify it, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says:
O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigateيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَأٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا
[Al-Hujurat: 6] So he says: Am I an open sinner? Or do you think I am an open sinner? What is your opinion on this?

A person needs to verify from two perspectives: First: from the perspective of trustworthiness,And this is what is meant by His saying, the Exalted:
if there comes to you a disobedient oneإِنْ جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ
[Al-Hujurat: 6] because an open sinner is not trustworthy.

The second: Second: from the perspective of strength, which is the strength of memory in receiving and conveying, in terms of speed and haste,So if I say: I will verify it.

I do not say: You are an open sinner, you are just in my estimation, but you may understand the Shari'ah contrary to what is intended, you may be hasty, and you may forget.
And it is not permissible for a person, when someone whose outward appearance is justice informs him, to recite the verse; it is not permissible, because if he recites it when he is informed, it means the man is an open sinner, and this is not permissible. But you say: I have now heard what you are saying, and I will look into the matter if there is doubt.
