The ruling on one who joins a congregation praying Maghrib while he has not yet prayed 'Asr

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
O Shaykh! If a person joins a congregation while they are praying Maghrib and he has not yet prayed 'Asr, does he join them with the intention of 'Asr, or does he pray Maghrib with them and then pray 'Asr?
No.
He joins them with the intention of 'Asr; because the stronger position is that a difference in intention between the imam and the one praying behind him does not affect the validity of the prayer. So he joins with the intention of 'Asr, and when the imam concludes the Maghrib prayer, he stands up and performs the fourth rak'ah if he joined the imam at the beginning of the prayer.
