Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And the grain with its husk and the fragrant plant)
Allah the Exalted said: [Ar-Rahman: 12] Al-habb (grain): that is, what is eaten from wheat, corn, sorghum, rice, and the like. And his statement: (With its husk) means: what remains of its stalk when it dries out, which is known as straw; because it is husked,Meaning: the animals trample it with their feet until it is crushed. (And the fragrant plant) is this plant with the pleasant scent. So Allah mentioned in the earth fruits, date palms, grain, and the fragrant plant; because each of these four has a distinct characteristic that sets it apart, and all of this is for the benefit and welfare of the servants.
(So which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?) The address is to the jinn and mankind, and the question implies denial,Meaning: meaning, which favor do you deny?
