Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And Allah is the possessor of great favor)
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Hadid: 21] Meaning: The One of the great favor, Mighty and Majestic. No one has a greater gift than Allah the Exalted, for He brought you into existence from nothing, provided for you, and sustained you with blessings. He made guidance easy for you and guided you to it. Is there anyone greater than Allah? No one. Therefore, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: [Al-Hujurat: 17] And when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gathered the Ansar during the Battle of Hunayn, when he distributed the spoils of war among those whose hearts were to be reconciled, he would remind them and say to them: "Did I not find you lost and did Allah not guide you through me?"They said: Allah and His Messenger are the source of security. He said: Did I not find you scattered, and Allah united you through me?They said: Allah and His Messenger are the source of security) Every time he said a statement, they would say: "Allah and His Messenger are the source of security."
Meaning, He is greater than us.
So the conclusion is that Allah the Exalted is the possessor of great favor, but He gives His favor to those who are deserving of it.As Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: [Hud: 3] O Allah, we ask You of Your great favor to guide our hearts, to rectify our deeds, and to conclude our affairs with good. Indeed, You are capable of all things.
Allah the Exalted said:
and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِThey consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islam. Say, "Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith
Meaning, He is greater than us.
So the conclusion is that Allah the Exalted is the possessor of great favor, but He gives His favor to those who are deserving of it.As Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
