[How to reconcile Allah’s saying: (So do not purify yourselves) and His saying: (And as for the favor of your Lord, then speak of it)

How to reconcile Allah’s saying:
So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.فَلا تُزَكُّوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقَى
[Surah al-Najm: 32] ,and His saying, the Exalted:
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
[Surah al-Duha: 11] ?
Yes, you have done well, may Allah bless you,His saying, the Exalted:
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
[Surah al-Duha: 11] means: that a person should speak of what Allah has bestowed upon him, not that he should purify himself in the sight of his Lord. There is a difference between the two,A person says: he prayed, he gave charity, he fasted, he performed Hajj, intending to indicate to his Lord through his deeds. To purify oneself in the sight of Allah is what is prohibited.

But:
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
[Surah al-Duha: 11] so he says: Praise be to Allah who guided me after I was such and such. There is nothing wrong with this. This is 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him), who before he embraced Islam was the most hateful of people toward the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him),And he says: and I wished I could get hold of him and kill him.

And when he embraced Islam, he said, after embracing Islam, speaking of Allah’s favor: [I could not look at him out of reverence for him] or as he said. There is nothing wrong with this.

The Shaykh: The brother said salam, and you also said salam, and you are with us. How do you say salam to us when you are with us? The known practice of the Companions was that when they asked the Messenger, they did not say salam, except for whoever entered the circle.
