The Ability to Fast

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth: The ability to fast. If one is not able, his inability is either permanent or expected to end. If his inability is permanent, he must feed one poor person for every day,Meaning: that is, he must feed one poor person for every day, such as an elderly person or one who is ill with a disease from which recovery is not expected. He must feed one poor person for every day,And the method of feeding: either by giving each person a mudd of rice along with meat to sustain them, or by gathering them all together, or ten by ten, to provide them with lunch or dinner, as Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to do when he grew old.
As for the one who expects his inability to end, he waits until his inability ends and then makes up the fasts, because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other daysوَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضاً أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
[al-Baqarah: 185] .
