Is the expiation sufficient for one who is unable to fast?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: My mother is ill and cannot fast. Is the expiation sufficient for her? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.

Answer:
If her illness is expected to end, she should wait until she recovers, if Allah wills, and then fast, based on the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other daysوَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 185].
However, if her illness is not expected to end, or if she is advanced in age and unable to fast, she must feed one poor person for every day, and that is sufficient for her, praise be to Allah. She may gather the total amount and give it to some of the poor on behalf of the entire month, even to a single poor person, at the beginning of the month, in the middle, or at the end, praise be to Allah.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
