Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And what prevents you from spending in the cause of Allah)

Allah the Exalted said:
And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah
[Al-Hadid: 10] Listen to know that the Qur'an is connected, part to part,Allah the Exalted said in the first verses:
Believe in Allah and His Messenger and spend out of that in which He has made you successors
[Al-Hadid: 7] Then He said:
And why do you not believe in Allah
[Al-Hadid: 8] Then He said:
And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah
[Al-Hadid: 10] When He commanded us to spend from what He made us successors in, He said:
And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah
[Al-Hadid 57:10]
meaning: What prevents you?! And spending in the cause of Allah includes everything in which Allah commanded spending, so "in the cause of Allah" here is general, and accordingly, spending on oneself, spending on one's wife, spending on one's family, spending on the poor, and orphans, and spending in the cause of Allah, all that Allah commanded spending in falls under this verse, even spending on oneself; your spending on yourself is charity, your spending on your wife is charity, but note the intention, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas: (And know that you will not spend any expenditure seeking thereby the Face of Allah except that you will be rewarded for it) And this condition is necessary, so it is obligatory to seek thereby the Face of Allah (except that you will be rewarded for it) meaning: it will be established for it.

Therefore:
And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah
[Al-Hadid 57:10]
What is meant by spending in the cause of Allah? Everything in which Allah commanded spending.
And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth
[Al-Hadid: 10] Meaning, how do you not spend when it is Allah who will inherit the heavens and the earth, and included in that is your wealth which you were stingy with; Allah the Mighty and Majestic will inherit it. So when your wealth is inherited after you, either a righteous person inherits it and is happier with it than you, or a corrupter inherits it and you have left for him what he uses to aid in his corruption. Did you understand this? If you leave wealth, either you leave it for one who spends it in the cause of Allah, and he is happier with your wealth than you, or you leave it for a corrupter who uses it to aid in disobedience to Allah, and you have aided him in his disobedience to Allah with what you left for him.

Therefore: What is fitting for you? To spend it in the cause of Allah, so that it becomes a benefit for you, and you are safe from its harm if one who corrupts with it inherits it.
And remember, my brother, when you think about spending, Satan comes to you and commands you to be stingy and promises you poverty. Consider that if you leave this wealth, it must be inherited, for it will not be buried with you, and the inheritance will circulate between the two matters mentioned before, which are: either one who spends it in the cause of Allah inherits it and is happier with your wealth than you, or one who uses it to aid in corruption on earth inherits it, and you become the cause of corruption on earth, and this is inevitable.
