Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (On the Day the hypocrites and the hypocrite women will say to those who believe)]
We begin this session with what we have been accustomed to beginning with, which is speaking about what Allah Mighty and Majestic facilitates from the verses of the Book of Allah,And we had previously concluded with the saying of Allah the Exalted:
On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light." And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is torment.
[Al-Hadid: 13] .

He says:
On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women
[Al-Hadid 57:13]
Meaning: Remember the Day when they say. So the phrase (the Day when they say) is a temporal adverb, and a temporal adverb, a locative adverb, and a prepositional phrase must have something to which they relate. The scholars estimate the omitted element in every place with what is appropriate for it,So here it is appropriate that the estimation be: Remember, O human being, the Day when the hypocrites say.
The rest.
This Day is the Day of Resurrection, and the hypocrites are those who displayed Islam outwardly while concealing disbelief inwardly.
They say with their tongues what is not within their hearts.
[Al-Fath: 11] Hypocrisy did not manifest until the power of the Muslims had strengthened after the Battle of Badr. The Battle of Badr took place in Ramadan in the second year of the Hijrah, in which the Muslims achieved a crushing victory over the disbelievers. So when the dawn of Islam broke and the power [of the Muslims] strengthened, hypocrisy appeared.
Hypocrisy is when a person displays Islam outwardly while concealing disbelief inwardly, and this became widespread among the Muslims. They used to come to the prayer with the people and attend the congregation, but it was heavy for them. The heaviest prayers for the hypocrites were the 'Isha' prayer and the Fajr prayer; because there were no lights by which they could see, and they were only praying to show off to the people.
On the Day of Resurrection, light will appear for the believers and the hypocrites, then the light of the hypocrites will be extinguished. And you know, O human being, that the extinguishing of light after it has existed is a greater darkness than if there had been no light at all. For this reason, if you extinguished a strong light and then opened your eyes, you would not see anything except after a brief period of time. So the extinguishing of the light after it has existed will be more severe for them than if there had been no light, and then the regret will be more severe.

The hypocrites will say to those who believe:
Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light
[Al-Hadid: 13] Look at us (we will take a little from your light) Meaning: We will take a small amount according to the need.
It will be said, "Go back behind youقِيلَ ارْجِعُوا وَرَاءَكُمْ
[Al-Hadid: 13] And this saying is either from the believers or from the angels; we do not know, Allah knows best.
It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light."
[Al-Hadid: 13] And is this a reality or a mockery of them?Meaning: Is it a reality that they want to go to the place of the light where the light was extinguished, in case the light might be renewed? Or is this a matter of mocking them and ridiculing them? The verse is compatible with both possibilities.
Then after that,
Then a barrier will be set up between themفَضُرِبَ بَيْنَهُمْ
[Al-Hadid: 13] Meaning: between the hypocrites and the believers.
On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light." And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is torment.
[Al-Hadid: 13] This wall is great and prevents jumping over it from behind. (It has a door) through which the believers enter and from which the hypocrites are prevented.
its interior containing mercyبَاطِنُهُ فِيهِ الرَّحْمَةُ
[Al-Hadid: 13] The inner side of this wall contains mercy for the believers.
but on the outside of it is torment.
[Al-Hadid: 13] [Mercy] for the hypocrites. And you cannot imagine this state, because the situation is too great for us to imagine it. It is a great state.
