An important principle: worship is not accepted until two fundamental conditions are met: sincerity and following the Prophet, with evidence for this.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We have already mentioned that worship is not accepted until two fundamental conditions are met: first, sincerity for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and second, following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). If there is no sincerity, it is not accepted. There are many verses regarding this, among which is His saying in the Holy Hadith, meaning from the evidence, His saying in the Holy Hadith:
I am the One, One Who does not stand in need of a partner. If anyone does anything in which he associates anyone else with Me, I shall abandon him with one whom he associates with Allah. أنا أغنى الشركاء عن الشرك من عمل عملا أشرك فيه معي غير تركته وشركه
Sahih Muslim 2985
As for the second fundamental matter, it is following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), based on His saying:
Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you قل إن كنتم تحبون الله فاتبعوني يحببكم الله
[Ali 'Imran 3:31]
and His saying:
So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided. فآمنوا بالله ورسوله النبي الأمي الذي يؤمن بالله وكلماته واتبعوه لعلكم تهتدون
[Al-A'raf 7:158]
and His saying:
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way وأن هذا صراطي مستقيما فاتبعوه ولا تتبعوا السبل فتفرق بكم عن سبيله
[Al-An'am 6:153]
As for the evidence from the Sunnah, it is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever does a deed that is not in accordance with our matter, it is rejected. من عمل عملا ليس علينا أمرنا فهو رد
