[Two Doubts Regarding the Claim That (That Book) Does Not Mean the Qur'an and Regarding the Naming of the Messenger Ahmad]
Your Eminence! A non-Muslim raised two doubts that we did not know how to answer: In the saying of Allah the Exalted: [al-Baqarah:1-2] He says: the word (That Book) does not mean this Book.
And the second doubt: Regarding the saying of the Messenger of Allah, 'Isa (peace be upon him): [al-Saff:6] And the name of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is Muhammad, so how do we respond to him, may Allah preserve you?
As for the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:2] The Muslims, among exegetes and jurists, have reached consensus that it is the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), this Qur'an, because He referred to it with and the fact that He referred to it with the distal demonstrative despite its nearness is evidence of its greatness and the elevation of its status,And for this reason He said in another verse: [al-Isra:9] This is the Qur'an, and there is no ambiguity in this, nor any confusion.
As for the saying of 'Isa: [al-Saff:6] It is said: Yes, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has multiple names: Ahmad, Muhammad, al-Aqib, al-Hashir, many well-known names, and there is no objection to a person having multiple names, so he is Ahmad and Muhammad, and this is indicated by the saying of Allah the Exalted in the same surah: [al-Saff:6] Who came to them? Ahmad [As-Saf 61:6] And the past tense verb indicates that the coming preceded the good news, and we do not know in history that there was a messenger between 'Isa and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
And Allah the Exalted inspired 'Isa to say: His name is Ahmad, for a profound and great wisdom, in that he came with the name of superlative Ahmad to alert the Children of Israel that this Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) is the most praiseworthy of people to Allah the Exalted.
And the second: That he is Ahmad, the most praiseworthy of those who are praised, for people praise so-and-so and so-and-so and so-and-so, and the most praiseworthy of people is the most deserving of praise, and he is the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him),So that the Children of Israel would not say: That there is a messenger better than him.
Your Eminence! A non-Muslim raised two doubts that we did not know how to answer: In the saying of Allah the Exalted:
This is the Book about which there is no doubt
And the second doubt: Regarding the saying of the Messenger of Allah, 'Isa (peace be upon him):
and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.
As for the saying of Allah the Exalted:
This is the Book about which there is no doubt
That is the Book
Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable
As for the saying of 'Isa:
and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.
But when he came to them with clear evidences
فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِand bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."
