The ruling on women's participation in political affairs

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Some people say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to pray in the mosque with men and women present, and there was no barrier between them. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would go on military expeditions with women accompanying him. Some of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) were the ones to whom people would return for legal rulings and knowledge. So why do you prevent women from participating in work and political activities?

We say: All of this was the right of women in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). They would pray, and there was no barrier between them and the men, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) recommended two things: The first is that he said: "Their homes are better for them," even though people were safe at that time,The Companions are the best of generations, and yet he said: "Their homes are better for them," and this means that a woman's prayer in her home is better.

Second: He said: "The best rows for women are the last ones, and the worst are the first ones," and this indicates that it is better for a woman to keep her distance from mixing with men. This is one point.
As for there being no barrier between them, were the mosques in the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) like our mosques today in terms of lighting and illumination? No. And were the women of the Companions like the women of today? No. When the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) commanded charity, the women of the Companions would throw from their baskets and walls into the garment of Bilal,Now, if you shout at the top of your voice and open your mouth and say: giving in charity. One woman would give in charity while ten would not, so there was a difference.

As for returning to women for legal rulings, who has said: that it is not permissible for a woman to be asked for a ruling? If a woman has knowledge, she can be asked for a ruling, even up to our time. But is she to be asked for a ruling while she is displaying her adornment, wearing perfume, and applying makeup in front of men? No.
And we do not prevent—hypothetically—a woman who is fully covered, with her face, hands, and feet covered, and everything else, sitting in her prayer area, and a man comes to ask her for a ruling without seclusion,We say: Yes, there is no problem.
As for their participation in opinion and jihad, yes. But did they participate with men in political affairs? I do not know of this at all. And 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), when he made the matter of the caliphate a matter of consultation, did he include a woman among them? He did not include one, and we do not know of anyone who included a woman. And how can we include women in important, decisive political matters when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "I have not seen anyone deficient in intellect and religion who is more likely to divert a wise man than one of you," We are people of intellect, we know. And if one out of a hundred women hits the mark, we have men who hit the mark 99% of the time, and they are sufficient.
Glory be to You, O Allah, our Lord, and praise be to You, I testify that there is no god but You, I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You.
