What is the danger of hypocrisy to the Muslim servant?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the danger of hypocrisy to the Muslim servant?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Pious, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. Hypocrisy is of two types: major hypocrisy, which expels one from the religion, and minor hypocrisy, which does not expel one from the religion. As for the first, it is displaying faith while concealing disbelief, may Allah protect us from it, such as what occurred during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to which Allah referred in His saying:
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day," but they are not believers.
[Al-Baqarah 2:8]
These people display that they are Muslims, so they pray with the people, and perhaps they give charity and remember Allah, but they do not remember Allah except a little. They acknowledge the message, but they are liars. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, says about them:
(1) When the hypocrites come to you, [O Muhammad], they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." And Allah knows that you are His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars. (2) They have taken their oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allah. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.
[Al-Munafiqun 63:1-2]
This hypocrisy, may Allah protect us from it, is major hypocrisy, and its practitioner is in the lowest depth of the Fire. The scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, differed on whether there is repentance for it or not. Some of the scholars said: There is no repentance for it, because if we say that he repents, then nothing of his faith is apparent except what his tongue displayed, and he was displaying faith from before. However, the correct view is that his repentance is accepted if it becomes clear from his actions that he changed his previous methodology and that he repented with sincere repentance. This is indicated by the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
(145) Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire - and never will you find for them a helper - (146) Except for those who repent, correct themselves, hold fast to Allah, and are sincere in their religion for Allah, for those will be with the believers. And Allah is going to give the believers a great reward.
[An-Nisa 4:145-146]
.
As for the second type of hypocrisy, it is minor hypocrisy, which does not expel one from faith, such as the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The signs of a hypocrite are three: 1. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. 2. Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ). 3. If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest.
Sahih al-Bukhari 33
And he said:
Four characteristics: whoever has them all is a pure hypocrite, and whoever has one of them has a characteristic of hypocrisy until he abandons it.
This is minor hypocrisy, which does not expel one from the religion, but it is feared that it will gradually lead its practitioner until he reaches major hypocrisy.
And on this occasion, I urge my brothers to be truthful in speech, to fulfill promises, and to perform trusts in the best manner.
As for the first, which is truthfulness in speech, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urged it, encouraged it, and warned against lying. He said (peace and blessings be upon him):
Be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man will keep on being truthful and seeking truthfulness until he is recorded by Allah as a truthful one. And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. And a man will keep on lying and seeking lying until he is recorded by Allah as a liar.
.
As for fulfilling promises, Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, praised those who fulfill their covenants when they make them.
As for performing trusts, the texts indicated the obligation of performing trusts, as in His saying, the Exalted:
Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice
[An-Nisa 4:58]
.
Likewise, I advise them to do what Allah has made obligatory upon them of performing duties, whether that is between spouses, or between those who transact with each other, or between the hired worker and the one who hired him, or other transactions, so that a person is safe from being described with any of the characteristics of hypocrisy. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you and bless you. This questioner says.
