Was the hypocrisy of 'Abd Allah ibn Abi a matter of belief or practice?

The questioner : Another question related to the previous discussion in last Friday's session regarding the issue of hypocrisy: Is it authentic that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed over 'Abd Allah ibn Abi, and that 'Umar intended to prevent him from doing so, and that the Qur'an was revealed in support of 'Umar? And was his hypocrisy practical or doctrinal?

The Shaykh : His was doctrinal hypocrisy, and it may have been accompanied naturally by practical hypocrisy.
