Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is a paper from a person who says that we previously stated that *dhikr* with a dammah means remembrance, and that he says Allah says:
But Satan made him forget the mention [to] his master, and Joseph remained in prison several years. فأنساه الشيطان ذكر ربه فلبث في السجن بضع سنين
[Yusuf 12:42]
and that he says the *dhikr* here is with a kasrah and it appears that he remembered his Lord. What is in my mind is what I told you: that *dhikr* with a dammah is the opposite of forgetting, and that *dhikr* with a kasrah is praise of the one being praised. Based on what the brother has presented, may Allah reward him with good, the issue needs to be reviewed and reflected upon. Therefore, do not rely on what I said initially until we review it a second time. Yes.
