Is it considered excessive strictness for a woman to wear wristbands to prevent her hands from being exposed when she rises from the tashahhud or the rest sitting?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Umm 'Asim, when praying, out of fear that the sleeve of her jilbab might be exposed when she rises or stands up from the tashahhud or the rest sitting, is this considered excessive strictness?

The Shaykh : What does she wear?

The questioner : She wears wristbands; a wristband means a tight cuff.

The Shaykh : A tight cuff means...

The questioner : Out of fear that the sleeve of her hands might be exposed, is this considered excessive strictness, especially when she rises from the rest sitting or the tashahhud?

The Shaykh : If her inner garment is Sharia-compliant, there is no need for such excessive strictness. If her inner garment is not Sharia-compliant, then this precaution is obligatory.

The questioner : How can it be not Sharia-compliant, considering she is in prayer?

The Shaykh : I mean that the shirt has a wide sleeve.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Then this wide sleeve will expose her flesh.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : However, if the sleeve is tight such that it does not expose her 'awrah, then this remains excessive strictness.

The questioner : But excuse me, Shaykh, regarding her rising from the rest sitting, it is known that she raises her knees before her hands. In this case, the sleeve of the jilbab, as tight as it can be, needs to be exposed.

The Shaykh : No problem, this is excused. We say if it is Sharia-compliant, it is permissible.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
