Explaining the meaning of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (No Jew or Christian hears of me and then dies without believing in me).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : Sitting or standing?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner :
No Jew or Christian hears of me and does not believe in me ما سَمِعَ بي يهوديٌّ ولا نصرانِيٌّ ولم يؤمِنْ بي
.

The Shaykh : Glory be to Allah! I have not heard a lecture from my lectures on this hadith:
Whoever hears of me مَن سَمِعَ بي
.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah.

The Shaykh- May Allah have mercy on you - as he (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever sees me مَن رآني
, do you know the meaning of
Sees me رآني
?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, but he saw the Messenger, meaning: he saw a person in a dream and was told: This is the Messenger of Allah. We are often asked for our opinion and asked to interpret dreams. The dreamer tells me: I saw the Messenger as a dignified, grave scholar with a white beard, with a clear light upon it. I tell him: You did not see the Messenger. What do you think of my answer? Is it correct?

The questioner: Correct.

The Shaykh : Fine, the Messenger says:
Whoever sees me مَن رآني
He says: I saw him.

The questioner : He did not see him with his attributes, the attributes.

The Shaykh : Ah,
No man, Jew or Christian, hears of me ما من رجلٍ يهودي أو نصراني يسمع بي
by the name Muhammad or by his attributes?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Do not be hasty, may Allah guide you, do not be hasty by his attributes - yes - what is wrong with you? What pleased you about the phrase "by his attributes"?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : I am not answering your question, I am stating to you until you say I did not answer you. You asked me about your guidance? May Allah forgive you.

The questioner : So that you do not take a concept from me, for I am not one of those who declare people disbelievers, praise be to Allah, before and after. But Shaykh, this discussion will not increase our knowledge in knowing the responses to these doubts. I am speaking from the reality of these doubts. These are encountered among the youth, especially the Salafi youth, who are divided into sections, not just two. Some declare disbelief absolutely, and some declare disbelief upon the establishment of the argument without understanding the argument. So we wanted to increase knowledge of these doubts only.

The Shaykh : There is no harm in that, but your expressions give the opposite of what is in your heart, and this is not permissible. Another one rules with Islam and does not... Which is more guided in path and more upright in speech?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Without doubt... he believes and rules... .

The questioner : ... Yes.

The Shaykh : It is clear to you that you are about to declare disbelief for a major sin... So we return to the second question... What is the difference between here and there?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : ... I am asking you about the expression?

The questioner : ... Ruling with what Allah has revealed.

The Shaykh : He rules with other than what Allah has revealed... .
