Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) not rule that his mother is in the Fire, as he ruled regarding his father, because they are equal in that regard?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Abu Malik: Excuse me, Shaykh, the question now is: Do we understand that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled that his father is in the Fire? This is a ruling that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) affirmed with explicit wording and expression. However, he did not explicitly state that his mother is in the Fire; rather, he said:
I sought permission from my Lord to seek forgiveness for her, but He did not permit it. I sought permission to visit her grave, and He permitted it. استأذنت ربي أن أستغفر لها فلم يأذن , أن أزور قبرها فأذن
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 5:995
Does this also indicate what was explicitly stated regarding his father?

The Shaykh : Naturally, without a doubt, because, as is not hidden from you, he did not seek forgiveness for her.
Abu Malik:
And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father وما كان استغفار إبراهيم لأبيه ...
[At-Tawbah 9:114]
.

The Shaykh
And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became apparent to Abraham that his father was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated himself from him وما كان استغفار إبراهيم لأبيه إلا عن موعدة وعدها إياه فلما تبين له أنه عدو لله تبرأ منه
[At-Tawbah 9:114]
The fact that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was not permitted to seek forgiveness for his mother means that it is not permissible to seek forgiveness for a polytheist. Yes, that is correct.
Abu Malik: But, with respect, can it be said that the lack of explicit statement, the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) not explicitly stating that his mother is in the Fire, indicates that she is in a lower station in the Fire than his father?

The Shaykh : No, this is a matter that is silent upon. It is possible, just as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke about his uncle Abu Talib.
Abu Malik: That he is in shallow water.

The Shaykh : Yes, that is possible. But, as is not hidden from you, it is not permissible to expand upon matters of the unseen; rather, we entrust the matter to Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
Abu Malik: Otherwise, we would end up at what the people ended up with, namely that Allah sent the parents of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

The Shaykh : So Allah revived them for him until we believed in Him.
Another student: I mean, one does not seek forgiveness for a person who is not a monotheist, even if we are certain that the call did not reach him.

The Shaykh : Yes, because you only have the apparent evidence. You do not know if this person is excused or not excused. So, in reality, he is a polytheist. I wanted to say, regarding the hadith:
There is no Jew or Christian of this Ummah who hears of me and then does not believe in me... ما من يهودي أو نصراني من هذه الأمة يسمع بي ثم لا يؤمن بي ...
I say, in interpreting this hadith on this occasion, that "hears of me" means hears of me in my true reality. For example, the Christians in France, in Britain, in Germany, have heard of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him); but they heard of him as a deceiver, a seducer, and so on.
Abu Malik: A genius.

The Shaykh : That is the best thing, I mean, but they did not hear of him in his true reality. I supported this understanding with the hadith:
He who saw me in a dream in fact saw me, for the satan does not appear in my form. من رآني في المنام فقد رآني حقا فإن الشيطان لا يتمثل بي
Sahih Muslim 2266a
Do you know how the scholars said that the one who sees him in a dream must match the descriptions of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) as recorded in the *Shama'il*? So it is necessary that he sees the person of the Messenger in the dream, not an image where it is said in the dream, "This is the personality of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)." So here, he saw me just as he heard of me, exactly, each in his true reality (peace and blessings be upon him). Here, it is regarding his person, and there, it is regarding his call.
Abu Layla : There is a merchant in Oman, Shaykh, from the Tabligh group. I went in to buy some necessities from him in bulk. Without mentioning the name of this merchant, he is a well-known large merchant in terms of trade. So when I entered, I found amulets, I found the blue bead, I found shapes and colors and varieties of these things that I had not seen in my life, as if he was recommending them to me. After I bought my item and everything from him, because they were not available except at his place, I said to him: My brother, I want to advise you for the sake of Allah, it is not permissible to sell these things or deal in them. He said: Selling them and dealing in them is, of course, not permissible, and we advise the customers that these do such-and-such and are worth such-and-such.

The Shaykh : What Allah willed.
Abu Layla : So I said to him, my brother, this speech is not permissible, meaning:
cooperate in righteousness and piety وتعاونوا على البر والتقوى
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
This is not cooperation in righteousness and piety. You might sell them to a person who takes your words, but he has another intention in them. He said to me, I am well-known and I want to go down to America for da'wah, go down with me, and this ticket is ready. I said, Shaykh, before America, right now we are telling you that these things are forbidden. He said, I want to go down to America for da'wah and this ticket is ready, go down with me? I said, it appears there is no benefit in this.

The Shaykh : This is a fitnah. Going to America is a fitnah. I mean, the group believes in them, and this is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(103) Say, [O Muhammad], "Shall we [believers] inform you of the greatest losers as to [their] deeds? (104) [They are] those whose effort is lost in worldly life, while they think that they are doing well in work." قل هل أنبئكم بالأخسرين أعمالا الذين ضل سعيهم في الحياة الدنيا وهم يحسبون أنهم يحسنون صنعا
[Al-Kahf 18:103-104]
They are ignorant of Islam in the heart of the land of Islam. They go to America, he said they want to call to Islam. One who lacks a thing cannot give it. One who lacks a thing cannot give it. I mean, these wealthy people have the opportunity to show people that we are the da'wah group. It is as if the da'wah group is a passion. They do not know that it requires knowledge, it requires sincerity, it requires enjoining good and forbidding evil. And they, as you know from our experience with the head of the group when we were in Medina, what is his name, do you remember? You do not remember. Remember the incident when we went to him. We took an appointment with some of his group. And I remember well, he was talking, I was doing this, he said to me, be patient. He talks, he talks. Do you remember? You do not see me except raising my finger, I wanted to answer him. Be patient, be patient. Oh God, like that until the time of Maghrib was close, by an hour or three-quarters of an hour. He finished his speech. His speech was as if common people were sitting before him. I mean, the story of Yusuf, perhaps you remember, and some of the lessons taken from this story. A lesson, I mean, that benefits the common people. And we came to discuss with him the principles of this da'wah. Be patient, be patient... Now the time has come and the meeting is over. We were not able to speak, not even one word.
There is no god but Allah; and what is the problem? The Shaykh : Is Ibn Baz now entangled with them?

Another questioner : Yes, by Allah, he defended them with a defense, Subhan Allah, and with him also was al-Husayf.

The Shaykh : Ibrahim al-Husayf.

Another questioner : ... You do not speak, neither about tawhid nor...

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar. If they had known tawhid, that would be half a calamity. But they are ignorant of tawhid. I mean, there are two calamities: ignorance of tawhid, and not calling to tawhid. And this results from the first. But there are people, like some individuals from the Muslim Brotherhood who are Salafi in creed. The atmosphere of Salafism was provided to them, so they understood the creed correctly. But for the sake of their souls, as for calling to Allah with this first principle of the principles of Islam, you will not hear from them any speech about it. These are the Tabligh group, an ignorant group.
