If a man breaks his fast during an obligatory fast, is he required to abstain for the rest of the day or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, if a man breaks his fast during an obligatory fast, is he required to abstain for the rest of the day, or do we say that since he has broken it, he is permitted to continue eating and drinking?
There is a distinction in this. If it is during the day of Ramadan, he must abstain and make up the fast. If it is not during the day of Ramadan, he is not required to abstain, because he has invalidated his fast now, and this time is not a time that must be respected. So there are three categories: the categories of those who fast regarding the consumption of these things that break the fast are three. The first category is the one who is permitted to consume these things that break the fast in all cases, namely the one whose fast is voluntary, but it is not recommended except for a valid purpose. The second is the one who is forbidden from consuming these things, but if he consumes them, he is permitted to eat for the rest of his day. Who is this? It is the one whose fast is obligatory, but not during the day of Ramadan. The third is the one who is forbidden from consuming these things, and if he consumes them, he must abstain and make up the fast. This is the one who consumes them during the day of Ramadan. He must abstain and make up the fast. As for if it is for an excuse, if he consumes them while fasting, and it is not an obligatory fast, then he is permitted to eat for the rest of his day. Do you understand now? So the consumption of these things that break the fast has these three categories.
