The Shaykh's advice to the student being examined on the issue of ruling by other than what Allah has revealed.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Well, we have just mentioned for him repeated cases. He also said, "He is not declared a disbeliever, he is not declared a disbeliever, because he believes in Allah's ruling and Allah's Shari'ah in all circumstances... morning."
The student : Good...

The Shaykh : I am asking you, Professor Abu Aish, what are you called?

The questioner : Abu 'Abdullah.

The Shaykh : Abu 'Abdullah, so I am asking you, Abu 'Abdullah, first, do not take the issue with enthusiasm, but take it with knowledge, thought, and deliberation. Second, the terms must be defined in their implications and meanings so that agreement is very close. I am telling you, this one who replaces Allah's ruling with the ruling of George and Talios, and so on, is a disbeliever. But what do I mean by "replaces"? It means he did not accept Allah's Shari'ah and accepted the Shari'ah of the servants of Allah; this is a disbeliever. But one who replaces, in another phrase, in another meaning, meaning he set aside Allah's ruling and followed his own desire, this is also replacement. But there is a great difference between the first and the second. And when you deliver your good lecture just mentioned, this distinction and this detail do not appear from it at all.

The questioner : It is possible... in a specific case...

The Shaykh : I am advising you, I am reminding you of the words you are using. Use them with precision and deliberation. And I, until now, when you use the word "replaces," I have not understood what you mean. Until now, I, the Shaykh, who is eighty years old, let alone the general public, will not understand from you better than I do. Until now, I do not understand from you what you mean by "replaces." And I tell you this: if you mean "replaces" in the sense that he established an earthly ruling in place of the divine ruling, not just in action but in action and belief, this is a disbeliever, we do not differ on this. Listen, listen, this is a disbeliever. But a person who replaces it practically, while he believes that this replacement is wrong and that the truth is Allah's Shari'ah, and Allah knows that from him, this is not a disbeliever in the sight of Allah.

The questioner : ... disbelief.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Both formulations are not disbelief. The important thing is the belief, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : How, O Shaykh?
