Is it permissible to insult a disbeliever and backbite about him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to backbite about a disbeliever and a mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah)? And is it permissible for us to insult them?

The Shaykh : All of that is permissible, because a disbeliever has no sanctity, except if there is a harm resulting from it. For example, if a person insults a disbeliever in his face or behind his back, and it reaches him, he might insult the Muslim, his religion, and his Prophet, and so on. In that case, it is forbidden for the Muslim to insult the mushrik.
