The Ruling on Backbiting a Disbeliever

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is it permissible to backbite a disbeliever?

Answer:
Regarding what he has displayed, backbiting him about what he has displayed of his disbelief is permissible. One may say, "So-and-so did such and such, and did such and such." Yes, and it may even become obligatory when there is a need for it, so that the prescribed legal punishment is carried out against him, whether that is calling him to repent or executing him. The same applies to the open sinner regarding what he has displayed of his open sinfulness; there is no prohibition on backbiting him about what he has displayed.
