The Second Condition: Regret for the Sin That Occurred

The Shaykh : As for the second condition, it is regret for the sin that occurred, such that a person feels remorse and sorrow for what happened from him. The matter is not that he is indifferent to what happened from him, because his lack of concern for what happened from him indicates that he was not affected by the disobedience of Allah. Therefore, there must be regret for what happened from him, so that it becomes clear that he has repented to Allah with sincere repentance; for this reason, his heart is affected by what he did.
