A stranger in the Kingdom, far from his wife, who practices the secret habit repeatedly, swears not to return to it, then returns, and once swore by divorce, then returned again; what is the ruling?

The questioner : He says: “May the Shaykh be respected, I am a stranger in this town. I came and stayed for a long period in the Kingdom, far from my wife, and I practiced the secret habit time after time. I swore not to return to it several times, then I swore by divorce once, but I did it again. What is the ruling in this situation, and what is your advice to me and to those like me? May Allah guide you.”

The Shaykh : My advice to you and to those like you is to be patient and to seek reward from Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And whoever abstains from asking others for some financial help, Allah will give him and save him from asking others من يستعفف يعفه الله
Sahih al-Bukhari 1427, 1428
And you should fast, for this reduces desire. Then try to bring your wife to you, by having her come to you if she is in a country other than the one you are in, or by you going to her. For in that there are two benefits: a benefit for you and a benefit for her, as she may also be in a state like yours, weary and in need of a husband. This is what I advise.
