The questioner : A question outside the topic in the introduction, he says, may Allah honor him,The Shaykh : I am a young man living with my family, my mother, my father, my brothers, and my sisters. They brought a satellite dish into the house, and I forbade them from it and explained the truth to them, but they did not heed me. Should I leave this house, knowing that I fear for myself from this device if I remain with them? What should I do? Please advise me, and may Allah reward you. And if I leave the house and this is the cause of their anger, is there a sin on me for that? And what is your advice to my father and my mother, perhaps Allah will benefit from this tape?
The Shaykh : As for my advice to the questioner's father and mother: I advise them to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) by doing Allah's commands and avoiding His prohibitions. I warn them of the consequences of these satellite dishes, which broadcast nothing but what destroys morals and beliefs. I tell them: the enjoyment of this world is little, and what they are promised is coming. If they are pleased with disobedience to Allah for a day, they will be sad for days. And these satellite dishes and what is watched on them will have a profound effect on belief and morals, as is now heard from some of the boys who watch these visuals. As for him, I tell him: if his remaining is better, in that he mitigates the evil and gives advice, and perhaps hearts will soften and perhaps souls will purify, then let him remain and be patient. And if he does not benefit anything, let him leave, whether his parents are angry or pleased with it, because the pleasure of Allah is prior to the pleasure of everyone. And if it happens that the parents are angry with him, they are the ones who have done wrong, and his action is not undutifulness to parents, but their action is severing ties if they sever ties with their son because he saved himself from the harm of this dish. Then let the owner of the dish know that if he harms his neighbors with it, he is sinful, because the evil of some satellite dishes spreads to what is near the house, and people pick it up. And let him know also: if he dies and someone watches these satellite dishes, then every sin that occurs from it is a sin on him. And if he is in his grave, what will save him? Allah, no one will save him, even his sons and daughters cannot save him. And every viewing of this dish, which he was the cause of bringing, will be a burden on him. We ask Allah for safety, because whoever introduces a bad practice in Islam, he bears its sin and the sin of whoever acts by it until the Day of Resurrection. And this man does not know, perhaps he will not live to see the morning, or he will not live to see the evening. And I do not know how he imagines this matter. Does he imagine that he is a denier and says: this is not correct and there is no sin on me if I die and nothing happens? Or does he imagine the one who acknowledges and confesses? If his imagination is the first, he is in danger in his religion. And if his imagination is the second, he is in folly in his mind to keep this machine that will be a burden on him, even if time passes, even if it is after his death by years.
