What is the meaning of the supplication that is narrated: (O Allah, make us the richest of Your creation by You, and the poorest of Your servants to You, and make us independent of those You have made us independent of)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: Your Eminence, what is the meaning of the supplication that is narrated, or the supplication we hear: O Allah, make us the richest of Your creation by You, and the poorest of Your servants to You, and make us independent of those You have made us independent of?

The Shaykh : O Allah, make us the richest of Your creation by You; this is not appropriate, because the richest of creation in Allah are the Prophets (peace and blessings be upon them), and no one holds fast to Allah more than the Prophets hold fast to Him, nor does anyone rely on Allah more than the Prophets rely on Him, so this part is omitted. The second part: and the poorest of Your servants to You; this may be acceptable, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
O mankind, you are those in need of Allah يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَنْتُمْ الْفُقَرَاءُ إِلَى اللَّهِ
[Fatir 35:15]
The meaning of this phrase, the poorest of Your servants to You, is: that we do not become needy of anyone other than You. The third part: and make us independent of those You have made us independent of; this means: make us independent of people. However, something better than this supplication has been narrated:
O Allah, make us independent of Your haram by Your halal, and independent of Your disobedience by Your obedience, and independent of everyone other than You by Your favor. O Allah, do not leave us to ourselves for the blink of an eye اللهم أغننا بحلالك عن حرامك، وبطاعتك عن معصيتك، وبفضلك عمن سواك، اللهم لا تكلنا إلى أنفسنا طرفة عين
Yes.
