A word from the Shaykh on the categories of people in utilizing the summer vacation.
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : All praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own selves and from the badness of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomsoever He leaves to misguide, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger, His intimate friend and His trustee over His revelation. May Allah send blessings and peace upon him, upon his family, upon his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows:
We praise Allah, Mighty and Majestic, first and foremost, for making easy for us such gatherings in the houses of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, with the scholars, where students of knowledge and the general public gather with them to discuss what they need in matters of their religion and their worldly affairs. This is a blessing from Allah, Mighty and Majestic. This gathering takes place in Unayzah, in the Great Mosque, once a month, on the evening of the third Saturday of every month. This is the twentieth Saturday of the month of Safar, in the year 1417. I ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, to grant us all a good life that we may utilize it in what pleases Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He. As our brother, the Shaykh Mahmud ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Sayyig, said: We are at the beginning of the summer vacation for the year 1417 AH. The word "ijazah" (vacation) means that a person passes from one thing to another, moving from one thing to another. It does not mean "a break" as some people call it. In reality, it is not a break, and a person is never on a break in his life. A person is diligent and toiling until he meets Allah, Mighty and Majestic, as Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:[Al-Inshiqaq 84:6] The letter "fa" came after His saying: indicating that this toil will continue until meeting Allah, Mighty and Majestic, by the arrival of the term. A person must always be toiling and working. For this reason, it came in the hadith: because every person has ambition and will, and every person has a harvest and work. So a person must always be working, but we pass from one work to another.
